At Farm the District we we have a different approach to urban gardens. Traditional community gardens have individual beds where neighbors have to wait years to get a plot and often have to pay annual fees. Farm the District builds communal farms without individual beds, waitlists, or annual fees. Our decades of farming expertise can help you increase your productivity ten-fold from the traditional one-bed-one-person model. All garden beds are planted, maintained and harvested as a community, with the produce shared among volunteers and donated to the surrounding community.
This communal model creates an open space to learn and exchange ideas. Anyone can work in the farm regardless of experience. We will work with you to create a space that allows for an organic flow of knowledge and relationship-building to revitalize your neighborhood. It is our vision to turn vacant and unused lots into green spaces that grow food and community.
Let us help you take back control over your food system.
