Columbia Heights Green
The Columbia Heights Green is a quarter-acre urban farm in Northwest Washington, DC. The space is owned and operated by Washington Parks and People. Kate began volunteering as the Farm Manager and Community Coordinator in 2015. Riley joined in 2018 and Susan and Chris came on board in 2019. Along with many volunteers and generous donations, the space was transformed! In 2020 and 2021 we grew over 2000 pounds of fresh produce per season, a large portion of which was donated to Martha’s Table and Miriam’s Kitchen. The Green also boasts a Pollinator Waystation, bee hive, compost facilities, and much more.
Our team no longer leads volunteer efforts at the Columbia Heights Green as we are working now at the Temperance Alley Garden!

Check out the hoop house, which grows produce in winter, transformed into a fairy land of flowers and gourds in the summer months.
